Back to Where I Ignite

Home isn’t a place, home is a feeling. It doesn’t matter where you are in the world - it’s possible to turn a corner and feel the allure of the unknown colliding with the sensation that you are exactly where you are supposed to be. I use watercolor as a meditation; a way to center myself while also losing myself in the unpredictable flow of paint and water across the page.

Much of my work involves the intersection of city and nature: “Back to Where I Ignite” explores cityscapes in dreams as a collection of vibrant, loose watercolor impressions of city streets. These paintings are nowhere and everywhere, perched between fantasy and reality: that alleyway you saw once from a distance and have returned to time and time again, that intersection you've never seen before but that you know is a place you'll belong.
