Inspired by a night of cocktail carousing in Manhattan, this is the High Octane from Employees Only: a spiced, rum-based mashup of a Manhattan an Old Fashioned, served over big ice. I really enjoyed trying to capture the beautiful burnished bartop with this painting, as well as the warm and complicated reflection of light.
