Gray and stormy skies have long been a passion of mine, and I come back to them again and again as I continue to discover new skies in watercolor. In March of 2025 I spent a while in St Pete Beach staring at the way the sun came through dark and foreboding clouds to pick out chips of turquoise light on the tempestuous sea below. When I came home to Seattle I found this image bubbling up over and over, but paired with our beautiful mountains, and so this moody beach landscape was born.
This fine art print is part of my watercolor landscape series entitled Our Reckless Skies, and is available at 8×10” or 12×16”. Made using the Giclée printing technique, the thick, high quality Somerset Velvet paper has the look and feel of cotton watercolor paper. You can choose whether to order just the print, or whether to add a black or white mat.
