When I set out to add to my collection of vibrant watercolor birds for Seattle Pride 2026, I knew I wanted to work larger than previous attempts and that I wanted it to be as rainbow-y as possible. I thought that the colorful feathers on this painting would be an underlayer, but my creative flow had different ideas. This is my first large corvid on hot press watercolor paper, and I particularly love the layering and transparency in their feathers.
